What is linocut?
Linocut is a method of printmaking using sheets of linoleum (yes, like floor linoleum!). The linoleum is cut and carved to make a plate, which is then inked before printing onto a piece of paper (like a glorified stamp). Each print is unique and is therefore an original, with slight variations between ink distribution and density, pressure, alignment, and other factors.
The video shows the inking and printing process for a linocut print. Each print is handmade.
