Our existence on this planet is shared with many other living creatures in a tangled web of unknown dependencies. I've spent more than a decade trying to capture the plethora of life around me, to showcase some of their behaviors and personalities, and to promote a level of empathy.

Coast Range Fence Lizard

The nest, adorned with dried leaves and bits of lichen, stretches to accomodate the Mother's body.

At nearly 53 wing flaps per second, preening is an important activity.

Two hummingbird hatchlings share the nest, which envelopes them tightly.

With two mouths to feed, and herself, the Mother spends all her time during the day, gathering nectar.

A chick waits patiently, completely silent, for their Mother to return. The Mother will scout near the nest, searching for predators, before she announces her arrival with a call. The chicks will immediately respond.

After checking the coast is clear, the Mother returns to the nest. She checks the coast is clear once more, before feeding her chicks.
